Stacey Thompson is a former classroom teacher of 11 years and a lifelong educator.
A school is an engine for empowering the lives of every young person that enters its doors. As a former educator of eleven years, I was exposed to many of the issues that impact the lives of students and influence their ability to not only survive, but also thrive. To many, these students are categorized as “at-risk” but I categorize them as students of promise and potential.
In my student-centered campaign, I intend to listen, learn and lead with the voices, needs, and experiences of students while valuing the input of parents, educators, and the community. Let’s foster educational excellence, empowerment, and equity in our schools.
